All of us have heard the age-old tales that boiled down to the conclusion - Do not judge a book by its cover.
(We commend the designer who has designed multiple covers attempting to escape this judgemental notion.)
Yet here we are... Judging a book by its cover. Now I am not saying that we are all judgemental or Orthodox in our ways, but for us to understand something we attempt to at least have a glimpse of what it is all about. And to do that, we judge.
It might not be the defining or final judgment, but we still do it, just so that we can create an initial study by observing. What does all this have to do with a branding agency, branding, or with your business, you ask?
Everyone, whether they belong to your audience or not, will make a snap
judgment about you even before they get to know you.
This brings us to First Impressions and why they are so Important!
What do people see when they see your brand?
What do they feel?
Why should they get involved with you?
What values does your brand project?
Do they meet your target audience's values?
How can you convey all the emotions and answers to the questions above?
Is your brand's cover conveying the book's content? Or are they two completely different images? If so, what are you doing to change this perspective?
In an ideal situation, one would love to have a single solution that can be presented and accepted by an audience. But in a world where people's attention span lasts for 3-5 seconds, hoping to achieve at least one of the above-mentioned points as a hook that baits the customer to look into your brand is an absolute win.
